Goochland County Administrator, John Budesky, stated, “I am very pleased to promote Mr. Ferguson into this role. Eddie’s significant experience and skills put him in an optimal position to lead this combination department and to advise County Administration and the Board on a multitude of issues now and into the future.”
Mr. Ferguson stated, “I knew as a young child that public safety was my calling, particularly Fire & Rescue, and to one day serve as the Fire-Rescue Chief. I grew up in the County, attended school here, and have a natural love and vested interest in the County and its citizens. I can assure you that I’ll be as dedicated and committed as I have been in the past, while leading the organization forward to meet the present and future demands and challenges. I’m invested in the organization and want nothing more than what is best for our continued success.”
Mr. Ferguson will assume the position on August 1, 2019. The position was previously held by William D. MacKay.
