Goochland County Administrator John A. Budesky presented a proposed $92.2million County Budget for Fiscal Year 2021 to the Goochland County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, February 18th.
The proposed Fiscal Year 2021 Budget would begin on July 1. The County General Fund budget at $59.8 million represents a $3.6 million or 6.5% increase from the current year.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2020 John Michael “Mike” Watkins was sworn in as Goochland County’s new Deputy Chief of Fire-Rescue & Emergency Services.
After a highly competitive search, the County of Goochland and Chief Dillard Edward “Eddie” Ferguson Jr. announced the selection of John Michael “Mike” Watkins as the new Deputy Chief on Tuesday, December 31, 2019.

The Goochland County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 to elect District 1 Supervisor Susan F. Lascolette as Chair and District 3 Supervisor John Lumpkins, Jr. as Vice-Chair for 2020.
Lascolette is serving as the Board’s Chair for the second time. She most recently held the post in 2015. She succeeds former District 2 Supervisor Manuel Alvarez, Jr. in the position.

Goochland County is excited to announce that an agreement has been reached with Hourigan to complete construction on the new Goochland County Animal Protection and Adoption Center.
