Goochland County Social Media Comments Policy

The purpose of this site is to present matters relevant to the services, activities, issues, or policies of Goochland County.  We encourage you to submit your questions, comments, criticisms and concerns, but please note that this is a limited public forum and is not constantly moderated.

The county reserves the right to remove material that:

1. contains anything obscene, vulgar or sexually explicit;
2. advocates or depicts illegal activity, or incites violence;
3. contains personal attacks that insult, belittle, or denigrate;
4. promotes or endorses specific products or services, or promotes private business ventures, except for specific programs or events that receive funding or support from Goochland County;
5. campaigns for public office, or promotes a political organization or candidate;
6. jeopardizes the safety of citizens, personnel, or the conduct of operations or investigations;
7. infringes on copyrights or trademarks;
8. contains computer viruses, codes, or material that may disrupt, damage or restrict the use of any computer software, hardware, or telecommunications equipment; or
9. is off topic.

Material covered by this policy includes not just comments, but also videos, images, and links to other sites.  Goochland County reserves the right to remove any material that, in whole or in part, does not comply with this policy or applicable law. Repeated violations of this policy may result in banning or blocking the user.
