The center is home to the Goochland County Cooperative Extension and the Monacan Soil and Water Conservation District. The opening and ribbon cutting coincided with the unveiling of the County’s new ACRES Agricultural Initiatives dedicated to promoting and supporting Goochland County’s ongoing commitment to the Goochland Agricultural community.

The ACRES Initiative, which stands for Accessibility, Connectivity, Readiness, Education, & Sustainability, will ensure quality opportunities for engagement in the agricultural and natural resources of Goochland County through focused services and initiatives including programming, education, community, development initiatives, economic development, and hands on experiences.
“Agriculture is critical to our community’s economy, character, and overall well-being, said John A. Budesky, County Administrator. The initiative will support Goochland’s agricultural community by seeking to provide accessibility to and connect citizens with agriculturally based resources and information, education, and programming opportunities as well as to promote and implement strategies to sustain our agricultural roots.”
The community is encouraged to come take advantage of the Agricultural Center and learn more about the ACRES Initiative both at the Center and at http://www.goochlandva.us/1046/Agricultural-Resources. In addition, the community is further encouraged to check out all the programs and activities the Central High School Cultural and Educational Complex has to offer.
