The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close a section of Shannon Hill Road (Route 605) over Interstate 64 now starting Sunday, Sept. 12 for bridge repairs. Weather permitting, work is expected to be complete in fall 2021.
Drivers are advised to use the following posted detour route:
Northbound Shannon Hill Rd. (Rt. 605): Take I-64 east to Exit 152 (Old Fredericksburg Rd., Rt. 629) to the ramp to I-64 west back to Exit 148 (Shannon Hill Rd.).
Southbound Shannon Hill Rd. (Rt. 605): Take I-64 west to Exit 143 (Courthouse Rd., Rt. 208) to the ramp to I-64 east back to Exit 148 (Shannon Hill Rd.).
