Vaccine Clinic Opportunities

COVID-19 Vaccine & Seasonal Flu Vaccine Clinic - Reynolds Goochland Campus - Nov. 23rd

The Chickahominy Health District (CHD), in partnership with Reynolds Community College and Goochland County, will offer FREE COVID-19 vaccines and seasonal flu vaccines on Tuesday, November 23rd from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Reynolds Goochland Campus located at 1851 Dickinson Road, Goochland, VA 23063.  This is a FREE event, no insurance needed, and appointments are required and can be scheduled by completing CHD’s Community Vaccine Clinic Survey at https://forms.gle/jy7KKyYxeserMMCK7 or by calling their COVID-19 Hotline at (804) 365-3240. 

First and Second doses of all three COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson) will be offered as well as booster doses for those who are eligible.  

For individuals who received either a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine a single booster is recommended at least six months after completion of their initial series for:

• Those 65 years or older
• Those 18 years or older living in long-term care facilities
• Those 18 years or older with underlying medical conditions
• Those 18 years or older working or living in high-risk settings

A single booster is recommended at least two months after completion of the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccines for those 18 years of age and up.

The COVID-19 vaccine clinic will offer the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5 – 11 as well. Children will need a parent or guardian to accompany them.

The seasonal flu clinic is open to those ages 6 months and older. Please wear short sleeves. One of the best defenses against COVID-19 and the flu is getting your vaccine!

The CDC also announced that there are now booster recommendations for all three available vaccines in the United States. Those individuals eligible for a booster vaccine may choose which vaccine to receive as their booster. Further guidance from the CDC in the coming days to help individuals understand these recommendations is expected.

Chickahominy Health District’s Goochland Health Department

Each of the Chickahominy Health District’s Four Health Departments are offering COVID-19 Vaccinations at their respective buildings on the following Dates and Times:

• Goochland Health Department: Every Tuesday, 1-3 p.m.
• Charles City Health Department: 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of every month, 1-3pm
• Hanover Health Department: Every Wednesday, 1-3 p.m.
• New Kent Health Department: 1st, 3rd, & 5th Wednesdays of every month, 1-3 p.m.

Appointments are required and can be set through the Chickahominy Health District’s Call Center at 804-365-3240.

Chickahominy Health District’s Home Vaccination Opportunity

Dawson’s Pharmacy & Goochland Pharmacy

In addition to getting vaccinated at the Goochland Health Department, residents can get vaccinated locally at Dawson’s Pharmacy or Goochland Pharmacy, both of which are located in the Courthouse Village.  Appointments are required and can easily be scheduled via the phone numbers below.

 Vaccines.gov helps you find locations that carry COVID-19 vaccines and their contact information.  Because every location handles appointments differently, you will need to schedule your appointment directly with the location you choose. Grocery stores, pharmacies, doctors’ offices, and medical facilities are now offering COVID-19 vaccines. To get started visit https://www.vaccines.gov/ today.
