Goochland County’s Redistricting Team will review Public Input received on the Proposed Redistricting Map and Requests for Changes to the Map with the Goochland County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, February 22nd at 6:00 p.m.
After the presentation, the Board of Supervisors will be asked to consider two revisions to the Proposed Redistricting Map and to set a public hearing on the Redistricting Map for March 15, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
The two revisions under consideration include:
The request to split Precinct 402 to create a 3rd Precinct in District 4 was made in anticipation of future growth in the precinct and to alleviate confusion and misdirection from a change later in the process. The request to revise the boundary between Districts 1 and 2 was made to avoid using Cartersville Road as a boundary between District 1 and 2 and instead use River Road West.

If the Board of Supervisors makes any changes to the Proposed Redistricting Map, a revised map will be created and posted to www.goochlandva.us/redistricting for an additional 15-day public comment period.
The Proposed Redistricting Map was posted to Goochland County’s Redistricting website, www.goochlandva.us/redistricting, on December 17th, 2021 and public comment was solicited through February 1st, 2022. Public comments were solicited during seven community meetings in the month of January, as well as through the redistricting website, via email, and by mail.
Residents and the community are encouraged to visit the Redistricting website at www.goochlandva.us/redistricting for information about the Redistricting process, to view the Proposed Redistricting Map, see answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s), to see an interactive web application map with address search capabilities, and view more resources.
The Board of Supervisors plans to hold a public hearing on the final redistricting map on March 15, 2022 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the county’s Board Room, Room 250 of the County Administration Building at 1800 Sandy Hook Road.
