Help keep Goochland beautiful! Goochland County will be holding a County-wide Litter Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 22nd from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Join your neighbors as we work together to pick up garbage, litter & debris from our roadways.
Goochland County Department of General Services is coordinating the clean-up event and asks that volunteers pre-register, if possible, but it is not required. Citizens can register by contacting the Department of General Services main office at (804) 556-5340 or by email at litterfreegoochland@goochlandva.us.
Volunteers can borrow materials such as trash pickers and bags from one of three staging areas below.
- Central High Cultural and Educational Complex (2748 Dogtown Road)
- County Administration Building (1800 Sandy Hook Road)
- Goochland County Fire Rescue Station # 3 – Centerville (52 Broad Street Road)
Volunteers may also register and participate at a neighborhood level. The County will note their own areas of focus and include their participation as part of the Countywide Litter Clean Up Day efforts. Volunteers working at the neighborhood level will need to pick up their materials the morning of April 22nd at one of the designated locations above and should return their materials and collected trash to the same location.
Participants should wear solid shoes and bring heavy duty gloves if they have them. The County will provide trash bags, vests, hand wipes, and trash grabbers.
For more information or to pre-register for a clean-up location, please contact Goochland County at (804) 556-5340 or litterfreegoochland@goochlandva.us.
Come help keep Goochland beautiful!
