New Live Burn Structure take Firefighting Training to Next Level in Goochland County

On Thursday, August 29th, Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services cut the ribbon on their new, 1.2-million-dollar live burn structure. “We are super excited to once again be able to conduct interior live fire training at the Henley Fire-Rescue Training Center, a capability we lost over 10 years ago due to aging and deteriorating conditions from extensive use in our legacy Class A burn building.”, said Goochland County Fire-Rescue Chief Eddie Ferguson. Goochland to Remember September 11

On September 11, 2024, it will have been 23 years since the attacks in Arlington, Virginia, New York City, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue & Emergency Services has taken on the responsibility to honor the bravery that was displayed on this day, and to ensure we remember those innocent lives lost. They will host two services, one in the morning for First Responders, and another in the evening for the Goochland Community. Community members are welcome to attend both services. Read more

Goochland County Economic Development received three 2024 Excellence in Economic Development Awards from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The awards were bestowed specifically for the organization’s work in the following categories: Paid Advertising Campaign, Special Purpose Website, and Multimedia Promotion. Read more
