Early Voting for the 2025 June Primary Election Begins on Friday, May 2nd

Beginning Friday, May 2, 2025, you can cast your ballot for the 2025 June Primary Election by visiting Goochland County’s Office of the General Registrar located at 1876 Sandy Hook Rd, Goochland, VA 23063.

The Office of the General Registrar will be open for early voting during normal office hours, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. continuing until Friday, June 13. There will also be special hours on Sunday, May 4 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. and on Saturday, June 7, and Saturday, June 14 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Read more.

Emergency Services Responds to Fire in East End

Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services received a report of a structure fire in the 2300 block of Rockville Road in the eastern end of the county at 0841 hours on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Engine 631 arrived on scene at 0850 hours and reported several sheds on fire with the fire threatening a nearby house. Fire crews immediately began focusing on saving the house and extinguishing the sheds. Crews battled flames that had spread to multiple sheds through a very dense area of yard storage. The fire burned an area roughly an acre to an acre and half and was stopped at a farmer's field with green vegetation. Crews were able to stop the fire before it reached the house, however the home did sustain minor damage.

The Goochland County Board of Supervisors will hold a Special Meeting on April 28, 2025, at 5:00PM in the Board Meeting Room at the County Administration Building located at 1800 Sandy Hook Road in order to adjourn to closed meetings at undisclosed locations within 15 days thereafter for the purpose of interviewing, considering, and discussing candidates for the position of County Administrator.
