This entry plan provides an intentional and purposeful process for the transition to serve as County Administrator and describes the specific approach that will be used to gain a greater understanding of the community, staff, and regional stakeholders. Goochland County Animal Care and Protection is proud to announce that it has received the ‘No-Kill’ Award from the Best Friends Animal Society for the third year in a row. This award recognizes the organization’s commitment to saving the lives of animals and maintaining a ‘no-kill’ status.

Goochland County Celebrates National Parks and Recreation Month

On July 1, 2025, the Board of Supervisors presented a proclamation designating July as Parks and Recreation Month in Goochland County. Read more on how Goochland County Parks and Recreation is celebrating!

Stay Informed with Real-time Parking Updates for the July 3^rd Fireworks Celebration!

Parks and Recreation will be offering real-time parking updates via their website and social accounts leading up to the Fireworks Celebration on July 3^rd. Participants can check www.goochlandva.us/Fireworks for vehicle counts and parking lot occupancy percentages. Parks and Recreation will periodically update their Facebook page to indicate which lots are full and which ones still have available spaces. As parking lots fill quickly, visitors are encouraged to use the real-time updates available on the website.

Goochland County Offices and Convenience Centers Closed for July 4th

County Offices and Convenience Centers will be Closed on Friday, July 4th

Goochland County Offices, Parks & Recreation facilities, and Convenience Centers will be closed on Friday, July 4th in observance of the Fourth of July Independence Day holiday. There will be no summer camp or programming on Friday, July 4th.
