Litter Control Program to Remove Prohibited Signs from Roadways Underway

Following the 2025 General Election, Goochland County is ramping up its litter control program. The goal of Goochland County’s sign removal program is to control litter and enhance the community’s roadways by removing signs within the road right-of-way (ROW). In addition, this program furthers the county’s strategic goals of high-quality core services, especially public safety and community health as roadside signs can limit visibility creating potentially dangerous situations. Tire Amnesty and Document Shredding

Join Goochland County for a Special Tire Amnesty and Document Shredding Event on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Fairground Property located at 2744 Fairground Road at the intersection of Sandy Hook Road (Route 522) and Fairground Road (Route 632). Read more.

Goochland County Office Closures for Thanksgiving Holiday

Goochland County Offices and Goochland County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center will be closed from 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26th through Friday, November 28th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The Goochland County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center will be open normal hours (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.) on Saturday, November 29th.

Goochland County Parks & Recreation facilities will be closed from 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26th through November 30th. All Parks & Recreation facilities will re-open at regular business hours on Monday, December 1st.

Goochland County Convenience Centers will ONLY be closed on Thursday, November 27th.

The Goochland Branch Library will be closed Wednesday, November 26 through Friday, November 28th.

Goochland Customers with CVWMA Red Friday pick up, will be moved to Saturday, November 29th.
