Blood Drive Scheduled for Thursday, December 11

Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services to Host Community Blood Drive

To help support their Whole Blood Program, Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services will hold a blood drive in partnership with Inova Blood Donor Services on Thursday, December 11, from noon to 5pm at the Goochland Sports Complex. Read more.

Goochland County Impacted by CodeRED System Outage

The CodeRED emergency notification system is currently experiencing a widespread outage due to a cybersecurity incident. CodeRED is the emergency notification system Goochland County and many other localities use to send telephone calls, text messages and emails to quickly deliver critical information during emergencies.

Goochland County officials were notified late Friday, November 21, 2025, that data associated with the CodeRED system may be compromised. The company states that there is currently no indication that the data has been leaked. Those who have signed up to receive CodeRED notifications from Goochland County are advised those notifications are currently out of service. Read more.
