Upcoming Planning Commission Meeting

The Goochland County Planning Commission will meet on Thursday, January 15, 2026, as follows:

VDOT Design Public Hearing - Hockett Road

Design Public Hearing - Route 623 Intersection Improvements

Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled a Design Public Hearing for Route 623 – Hockett Road for Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 5:30 – 7:00 PM at Dover Baptist Church.

Find out about the proposed project to construct a new two-lane road with a left turn lane at Broad Street and curb/gutter with sidewalk on one side of the roadway. The proposed connector roadway will link Hockett Road to Ashland Road at its intersection with Broad Street. Read more.

County Offices & Convenience Centers Closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Goochland County Offices, Convenience Centers, and Parks & Recreation* facilities will be CLOSED on Monday, January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. *Parks & Recreation facilities will open at 4:30 PM for evening programs.

Dr. Raley Provides Update on Transition to His Role as County Administrator

During the January 6, Board of Supervisors meeting, Dr. Raley reflected on his first six months as County Administrator and provided a summary of the work done as a part of his entry plan. A summary of the insights and shared priorities identified in over 190 conversations, meetings, and visits with stakeholders in the Goochland community can be found here.

County Employees Donate 162 Pounds of Food to Benefit Community

During the month of December, Goochland County employees held a food drive to benefit our neighbors in need. Thanks to their efforts, 162 pounds of food items were collected for the GoochlandCares Food Pantry, helping stock the shelves and support families across our community.
