Goochland County Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services will begin their annual testing and preventative maintenance program for dry hydrants on May 1, 2022.
Dry hydrants in ponds, lakes, and streams throughout the county are a relied upon means of rural water supply to support fire suppression.

On Saturday, January 8th at 01:14 hours, Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services responded to Shallow Well Road in eastern Goochland for a house fire.

On Friday, January 7th at 05:28 hours, Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services responded to New Town Road off Rock Castle Road for a house fire in southern Goochland.
The house fire was reported as being fully involved and possibly someone trapped inside.
