Goochland County Opens Application Period for 2026 Military Tribute Banner Program

Goochland County is proud to have honored sixty-three veterans in its first year of the Veterans Military Tribute Banner Program. These full-color banners were displayed along River Road West and Sandy Hook Road from Memorial Day through Veterans Day to honor our local Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, Reserve, and National Guard members.

The banners have been removed and are available for pick up by the sponsoring family. Banners can be retrieved from the Department of General Services, located at 2938 River Road West in Goochland anytime Monday – Friday, 8 am – 3 pm. For more information on how to collect your banner, please contact Goochland County General Services at 804-556-5340.

Applications for the 2026 program will be accepted through March 1, 2026. Due to limited space, if an honoree has already been recognized in this program, families are asked to wait to resubmit their honoree until after the March 1 deadline. This program is free to veterans’ families.
