Planning Commission
More than two members of the Goochland County Board of Supervisors may attend a Planning Commission meeting; if so, it will be considered a special meeting of the Board of Supervisors to discuss the application(s), but no votes or action will be taken by the Board of Supervisors at the meeting.
The Planning Commission consists of a five citizen advisory board appointed by the Board of Supervisors for a four year term (oath of office required). Planning Commission members are tasked with mindful stewardship of the environment, natural resources, and appropriate planning and development of the County. The Planning Commission works closely with Planning & Zoning in the reviews, recommendations and formal actions that are presented to the Board of Supervisors.

Public Hearing Sign Up January 15, 2026 Planning Commission Meeting In an effort to ensure an efficient and orderly public hearing period during the Planning Commission meeting, Goochland County is encouraging citizens to sign up ahead of time to speak at the hearings on the agenda. Signing up is not required and citizens will be given the opportunity to speak during the public comment period at the meeting without having signed up in advance.
