The National Weather Service at Wakefield VA has advised that a strong, impactful weather system will cross the region today into tonight bringing gusty winds and heavy rainfall.  Due to the anticipated weather conditions certain Goochland County departments will be closing early and amending their program offerings.  

As of 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 9th, the early closings are as follows:

• Goochland County Parks and Recreation’s Goochland Sports Complex and Central High Educational Complex will be closing on today, Tuesday, January 9th at 1:00 PM.  In addition, there will be no evening programs.
• The Goochland County Commissioner of the Revenue Office & DMV Select will be closing at 3 PM.
• As a precautionary measure due to the threat of inclement weather, Goochland County Public Schools will dismiss 2 hours early today, Tuesday, January 9, 2024.  Elementary schools will dismiss at 12:30 PM and middle and high schools will dismiss at 1:35 PM.
