[ARCHIVED] TC Energy Conducting Maintenance Activity at their Compressor Station in Eastern Goochland

TC Energy Conducting Maintenance Activity at Their Compressor Station in Eastern Goochland (2)

TC Energy has informed Goochland County of scheduled maintenance activity involving a blowdown at their natural gas compressor station in Eastern Goochland near the intersection of Hermitage Road and Tuckahoe Creek Parkway. Work will take place on or around Tuesday, January 16th or Wednesday, January 17th between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.

Residents will likely hear loud noises emanating from the compressor station during this period, there is no cause for alarm.  The sound during a blowdown can be as loud as an airplane engine and may last anywhere from a few minutes to multiple hours, depending on the amount of pipe being depressurized.  As the flow of gas gradually slows down, the noise also lessens. TC Energy is aiming to complete all work as quickly as possible and limit loud noises as best as possible.
