Goochland County Economic Development wants you to Explore Goochland! 

Last week, Governor Glenn Youngkin announced a list of local tourism programs that will receive public-private marketing funds with the goal of increasing visitation. Goochland County Economic Development & Tourism’s award of $15,750 will be used to promote the “Cozy Couple Getaway” blog and itinerary.

The itinerary highlights the romantic adventures couples can embark on when they choose to get away to Goochland. With niche overnight accommodations, delicious restaurants, great shopping, beautiful views, and tasty craft beverages, there is something in Goochland for every couple.

The funds will make it possible for the department to utilize innovative marketing techniques to introduce new audiences to the amenities found in Goochland County. “We are thrilled to receive a grant from Virginia Tourism Commission (VTC) to increase tourism in Goochland County.”, said Economic Development Director, Sara Worley. “Our tourism businesses and partners are eagerly looking forward to welcoming new visitors into Goochland for a Cozy Couple Getaway.”

Goochland County’s tourism initiative, “Explore Goochland”, launched in February 2023 and has drawn visitors from all over the east-coast. In 2022, visitor spending in Goochland County exceeded $82 million, which contributed $2.8 million in local taxes, and supported 620 jobs.
