[ARCHIVED] National Prescription Drug “Take Back Day” being held on April 26th – 10AM to 2PM

Drug Take Back Day - April 26 2025

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Goochland County Sheriff's Office and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse & theft during the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The public can rid their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs by bringing them for disposal to Fire-Rescue Station #1 – Manakin and Fire-Rescue Station #5 – Goochland.   Goochland County, the Goochland County Sheriff's Office, and the Rural Substance Awareness and Action Coalition (RSAAC) urge the public to bring your pills for disposal to the locations below between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26th.

During this opportunity, the DEA cannot accept liquids, needles, or sharps, only pills or patches. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
