Goochland County is proud to announce the launch of a comprehensive Employee Recognition Program designed to celebrate the dedication, service, and excellence of its team members. This new initiative offers multiple ways to recognize employees who go above and beyond in serving the community.

Through the Celebrating Everyday Excellence program, community members can share feedback regarding their experiences with county staff. These surveys will not only help recognize those employees who provide excellent service, it will also provide valuable feedback that may improve services and processes in the future. The survey to provide feedback through the Celebrating Everyday Excellence program is located at www.goochlandva.us/recognizeanemployee.

The HEART of Service Award seeks to honor Goochland’s public servants who embody the county’s core values in their daily interactions. Those core values being Honor, Empathy, Accountability, Respect, and Transparency. HEART of Service Award winners will be recognized quarterly at the appropriate Board of Supervisors meeting. To nominate an employee for the HEART of Service Award, please visit www.goochlandva.us/recognizeanemployee. 

Employees can also nominate their peers for one of five honors to be recognized on a quarterly and annual basis. Recipients of the quarterly and annual awards will be recognized by a surprise visit by the County Administrator, Dr. Raley, and publicly on the County’s social media accounts, website, press release, and at the Board of Supervisors meeting. Winners will also receive a plaque of recognition and have their name added to a plaque located outside of the Human Resources Department in the County Administration Building.
