Goochland County Animal Care and Protection is incredibly thankful to former Goochland resident, Dr. Keith Vetter, for his recent donation of $6,250 in honor of his beloved family dog Duchess. His generous contribution will greatly increase the department’s ability to provide specialized veterinary care for animals in need. 

One notable beneficiary of Dr. Vetter’s donation this holiday season is Noel, a dog that was hit by a car and required urgent back surgery. Thanks to the Goochland Pet Lovers, Noel's surgery was successfully performed at Partner Veterinary Clinic. She is now recovering in a veterinary rehabilitation clinic, funded partially by Dr. Vetter’s donation.  

"We are grateful to Dr. Vetter for his generous donation and to the Goochland Pet Lovers for their ongoing support.”, said Job Greene, Director of Goochland County Animal Care, Adoption, and Protection. "In addition to helping Noel, these funds will be used to support veterinary care that goes above and beyond what we would typically be able to perform. Specialty equipment and procedures on animals in need that would not ordinarily be covered can now be funded, offering hope and care to many more animals." 

Goochland County Animal Care and Protection is committed to the well-being of all animals in the community.  

Goochland Pet Lovers (GPL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fundraising and providing support to local pet and pet owners in need. The Dr. Lori L. Elliot Medical Fund through GPL allows for medical funding for strays, unclaimed, or abandoned animals in need of care before finding their forever homes.
