Design Public Hearing

Find out about the proposed project to construct a new two-lane road with a left turn lane at Broad Street and curb/gutter with sidewalk on one side of the roadway. The proposed connector roadway  will link Hockett Road to Ashland Road at its intersection with Broad Street. A roundabout will be constructed north of the intersection of Hockett Road and Holly Lane. Project information is also available online at https://bit.ly/44rJakw.

The meeting will be held in an open forum style from 5:30 – 7 p.m. This format will provide the flexibility to allow participants to meet and discuss the proposed roadway design elements directly with project staff members.

Review information and project plans regarding the proposed modification, at the hearing and at the VDOT Richmond District Office, 2430 Pine Forest Drive, South Chesterfield, VA 23834-9002, 804-524-6000, or 1-800-663-4188, TTY/TTD 711. Please call ahead to assure project staff will be available to answer your questions.

As the project’s design is developed and finalized, VDOT will determine the location of the right of way and/or easements that will be needed to accommodate construction of the project and future maintenance. The property owners that are affected by right of way acquisitions will be notified of the proposed location of the right of way and/or easements needed during the right of way acquisition process and prior to construction of the project. Right of Way acquisition will be performed in accordance with the Federal Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act and all applicable federal and state laws, and VDOT policies and standards.
