[ARCHIVED] Goochland County to Celebrate America Recycles Day on November 18th

Goochland Celebrates America Recycles Day - 11-18-17 Tire Amnesty

Goochland County and the Goochland Anti-Litter and Recycling Council (GARC) will celebrate America Recycles Day on Saturday, November 18, 2017 with tire amnesty, document shredding, and paint recycling from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will be held on the Fairground Property at the intersection of Sandy Hook Road (Rt. 522) and Fairground Rd. (Rt. 632).


Tire Amnesty

There will be a 10-tire limit per person and participants must show proof of Goochland County residency.  Tires larger than those on an average sized pick-up truck will not be accepted.


Document Shredding

Secure document shredding is available for up to five bankers boxes (no larger than 12" x 24") per person.  Paper clips and staples are acceptable, but plastic bindings must be removed.


Paint Recycling

Bring latex or oil paint to be recycled by Yuck Old Paint.  Each paint container costs $5 to be recycled.  Paint is distributed and reused in humanitarian construction projects, theater groups, and licensed contractors.
