"We thank our citizens, customers, and employees for their patience throughout this project," said John Budesky, county administrator. "The expanded parking provides citizens and customers with easier access to county offices, especially during high-traffic periods."
The expansion is in response to both a parking study completed in December 2016 and concerns raised by citizens. The study confirmed that existing parking lots were not in compliance with County Code standards for parking; the building was short approximately 71 spaces.
This multi-phased capital project was approved and is funded as part of the County and Schools Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for FY 2018-2022. Phase I of the project involved the redesign and expansion of the front main parking lot for the Administration Building Complex. Phase II involves construction of a permanent parking lot behind the Extension Office building in mid 2018. Approximately 38 spaces were added in the front and 25 will be added in the rear, for a total of 63 spaces.
