Tucker Park at Maidens Crossing
Bring a picnic and enjoy a day at Tucker Park!
ALL ACTIVITIES ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

Tree Planting & Beautification
Volunteers of all ages are needed to help plant and mulch trees, tidy up the Butterfly Garden, assist with trail maintenance and pick up litter. If you or your group can help with this effort, please email Leigh Dunn at
ldunn@goochlandva.us.
Music on the CarMax Cares Stage
Local musicians will play a variety of river songs throughout the afternoon. Sit back and enjoy music in the park!
Family Environmental Bee & Bluebird Activities
All ages will learn how to build their own bee houses as well as walk and learn about bluebirds
along the nesting box trail. Special outdoor games will include spinning a prize wheel with the
Central Virginia Waste Management Association.
Y History Walkers Tour
Join historian Chuck Peple at 3:00 p.m. for the second Y History Walkers Tour, sponsored by the Goochland Historical Society and the Goochland YMCA. Walk and learn about the historical
elements of the Tucker Park site and how it shaped Virginia’s early commerce history.

The Friends of Goochland Parks is proud to host the third year of this GREEN event filled with activities designed to promote environmental stewardship and showcase the natural and historical significance of Tucker Park.
Be sure to join us!

Directions to the park site: From Route 6, head south on Route 522 towards Powhatan County. The entrance to the park is on the right, before you cross the bridge.
