Goochland County will hold a Noise Regulation Listening Session on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Central High School Cultural and Educational Complex located at 2748 Dogtown Road, Goochland, VA 23063. Citizens and businesses are invited to share their thoughts with county staff as the Board of Supervisors considers whether residents want additional ordinances to regulate noise in the future.
Currently the county does not have a specific Noise Ordinance law to enforce and is looking to gain feedback from our citizens and businesses regarding a potential ordinance.
“Recently the county heard from a few citizens regarding concerns about noise,” said John Budesky, Goochland County Administrator. “We recognize there are perspectives on both sides of noise issues, the listening session is an opportunity for citizens and businesses to share their thoughts and concerns on noise regulation.”
The county is specifically interested in learning:
- Are there certain noises citizens have concerns about that they would like to see regulated?
- Do citizens like the flexibility to be unregulated against noises generated on their own property?
Goochland citizens and businesses are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to share their thoughts.
