To reduce congestion and add lane capacity, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will suspend most highway construction and maintenance work zones on interstates and other roads over the Independence Day holiday weekend. Lane closures will be lifted from noon Wednesday, July 3, 2019 to noon Friday, July 5, 2019.
Three projects are planned that will impact travel in and to Goochland County. The full list of projects including other localities is available via the link below.
I-64 west between mms 166-168 - Pothole patching - June 30
The left lane will be closed on I-64 West between mile markers 166 - 168 from 9 a.m. - 5p.m. June 30 for pothole patching.
I-64 east between Oilville (mm 167) and Rockville/Manakin (mm 173) - Pothole patching - July 1 - 2
The left lane will be closed on I-64 West between Oilville (mile marker 167) and Rockville/Manakin (mile marker 173) from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. July 1 - 2 for pothole patching.
I-64 east/west between mm 163 and Ashland Rd. (mm 173) - Vegetation maintenance - July 1 - 2
The left lane will be closed on I-64 east / west between mile marker 163 and Ashland Rd. (mile marker 173) from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. July 1 - 2 for vegetation maintenance.
