By Executive Order of the Governor of Virginia, Ralph S. Northam, the June Primary Election shall be held on June 23, 2020.
On April 13 the Governor signed Executive Order 56 officially moving the June 9, 2020 Primary Elections to June 23, 2020. Additional information on Executive Order 56 is available at www.governor.virginia.gov.
In these uncertain times one thing is still certain, the Office of the General Registrar’s commitment to continue to provide premier services to the citizens of Goochland County.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Virginia Department of Elections as well as the Goochland County Office of the General Registrar encourage all voters to protect their health and the health of others and vote from home. The Department of Elections has announced that all voters can us reason code "2A- My disability or illness" to vote absentee in the upcoming June Primary!
Every voter that votes absentee by mail is one less voter in line on Election Day, limiting the risk of spreading the virus within the community and protecting those that serve as Officers of Election at the polls.
When applying for Absentee Ballots please note that only a Republican Primary will be held on June 23 in Goochland County.
Absentee Voting for the June 23, 2020 Republican Primary will begin Friday May 8. The last day to request an Absentee Ballot to be sent to you is Tuesday, June 16.

Absentee Ballot Applications can be returned in person at the Office of the General Registrar located at 1800 Sandy Hook Rd, Goochland, VA 23063, by mail to the General Registrar at PO Box 1013, Goochland, VA 23063, by fax to 804-556-6323 or by email to vote@goochlandva.us.
In-Person Absentee Voting will be available at the Office of the General Registrar during normal office hours on weekdays beginning Friday, May 8 and continuing until Friday, June 19. The office will also be open for Absentee Voting on Saturday, June 20, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Voters can access the office during these times by the door along the Sandy Hook Rd. (Rt. 522) side of the Administration Building.
