[ARCHIVED] Goochland DMV Select Operations & DMV Transaction Options

Goochland County - Goochland County DMV Select Operations and DMV Transaction Options

The Goochland DMV Select is open serving customers Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., customers MUST be in line 90 minutes before closing to be served with same day service.  The line forms on the outside of the Administration Building at the front steps by the columns.  Customers will drop off their paperwork and then return to their vehicle until paged that the transaction is complete. Individuals are asked to abide by social distancing while in line and wear a mask while they are in the building. For more information and questions please call (804) 657-2018.

DMV Select offices are also open in Amelia, Cumberland, Hanover, Mineral, New Kent, Orange, and Palmyra.  Please visit https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/general/#utilities/select_svs.asp for a full list of DMV Selects that are open, their operational hours, as well as for a full list of transactions that can be conducted.

The DMV Select does not issue or renew Driver’s Licenses, Learner’s Permits, or ID cards. Those types of transactions require an appointment at a DMV customer service center at this time. Please see www.dmvnow.com to book an appointment.

Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is taking every precaution in planning a thoughtful, phased approach to safely reopening customer service centers. Operational adjustments are being made for social distancing. To minimize customer volume at DMV offices and CDL test sites, appointments will be required for specific services generally necessitating in-person service. Customers should use alternate service methods, such as online or by mail, when possible. Road tests are not available at this time.

Additional information on the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and operational impacts can be found on their website at https://dmv.virginia.gov. Area DMV Offices open by appointment include Charlottesville, Chesterfield, Farmville, North Henrico, and Richmond Central.

DMV’s Online Services portal provides the opportunity to conduct over 30 transactions online instead of going to a DMV Customer Service Center or DMV Select Office.  Visit DMV’s Online Services portal at https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/onlineServices/ for more information.
