The location for the “Goochland County Drive Thru Fall Festival” has been moved to the Hidden Rock Park complex located at 1920 Hidden Rock Lane, Maidens, VA 23102 due to site conditions from Tropical Storm Zeta.
The “Goochland County Drive Thru Fall Festival” will include displays of public safety vehicles, tractors, and other equipment. Virginia Cooperative Extension will be on site with a display and providing giveaways. A goodie bag will be provided for each child in the vehicle under the age of 12. Bags are limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
As part of the “Goochland County Drive Thru Fall Festival” the Goochland County Parks and Recreation Department is holding both a Costume Contest and Apple Pie Contest.
To enter the Costume Contest, submit pictures to amiller@goochlandva.us. All entries will be posted to the Department’s Facebook page at 9 a.m. on Friday, October 30th. A winner will be decided “by likes” and Department Staff at 7 p.m. on October 31st. Categories will include: Best Overall, Most Original, and Best Pet Costume (new this year). Prizes can be picked up from the Goochland Sports Complex on Monday, November 2nd from 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Entries for the Apple Pie Contest should be delivered to the Goochland Sports Complex located at 1800 Sandy Hook Rd., Goochland, VA 23063 at noon on October 30th. The winner will be announced at 3 p.m. that day on the Department’s Facebook page. Prizes can be picked up from the Goochland Sports Complex until 5 p.m. on October 30th or on Monday November 2nd from 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
