High Mileage Deduction on vehicles taxed in Goochland County

If your vehicle has excess miles, you may qualify for the high mileage deduction.  This is based on the year, make, and mileage of your vehicle according to the NADA book.   Trucks 1 ton and over will not qualify.   You must fill out forms and file them by March 1st of each year to receive this deduction.  Forms can be obtained from the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office by calling (804) 556-5807 or online at www.goochlandva.us  click on Departments – Commissioner of the Revenue.


Goochland County Business Licenses are due March 1.

Any person doing business in Goochland County that has yearly gross receipts over $10,000 must purchase a Goochland Business License to legally operate in Goochland County.  This is a yearly license and runs from January 1 to December 31 of each year. Applications were sent out to businesses already registered with Goochland in the prior year and should have already been received.  If you did not receive your license or if you are a new business located in Goochland, forms can be obtained from the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office by calling (804) 556-5807 or online at www.goochlandva.us  click on Departments – Commissioner of the Revenue.

These applications and the fee are due March 1, after that day a 10% penalty will be added to the amount of the license fee. 

 

Goochland County Real Estate Tax Relief for the Elderly and Disabled 

It is time to file your Tax Relief for the Elderly and Disabled application with the Commissioner of the Revenue’s office.   You must meet certain qualifications for this program, and applications and qualification information can be obtained from the Commissioner’s office by calling 556-5807.   This is an exemption program that you must qualify for each year, and your application should be filed with this office by March 1.  Forms can be obtained from the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office by calling (804) 556-5807 or online at www.goochlandva.us  click on Departments – Commissioner of the Revenue.
