Chickahominy Health District Vaccine Clinic Availability Survey

If you live or work in Goochland, Hanover, New Kent, or Charles City counties or the Town of Ashland (Chickahominy Health District) the best way to quickly make an appointment is by calling the Chickahominy Health District / Hanover call center at (804) 365-3240 or by completing the availability survey below:

A scheduler from the health district's team will reach out to individuals with an exact appointment time & appointment confirmation once they have reviewed residents survey responses. If you have already been vaccinated, please indicate this on their survey, and they have reviewed residents survey responses. If you have already been vaccinated, please indicate this on their survey, and they will remove you from their waiting list. 

Residents age 18+ can call the Chickahominy Health District Call Center to schedule an appointment by phone at (804) 365-3240.  Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Vaccine Finder and Federal Retail Pharmacy Program

Individuals ages 16-17, as well as any other community members who want the Pfizer vaccine, should check vaccinefinder.org to see which pharmacies and medical providers have Pfizer in their area (The Chickahominy Health District’s current supply is Moderna vaccines).  

The Federal Retail Pharmacy Program for COVID-19 Vaccination is a collaboration between the federal government, states and territories, and 21 national pharmacy partners and independent pharmacy networks to increase access to COVID-19 vaccination across the United States.  Individuals who are interested in getting vaccinated at their local pharmacy should check the pharmacy’s website to find out if COVID-19 vaccine is available and if they are eligible for vaccination. Goochland County Vaccine Clinic Accepting Age 18 and Older Walk-ins

If you live or work in Goochland, Hanover, New Kent, or Charles City County and are age 18 or older and are still waiting for your COVID-19 vaccination, Goochland is proud to offer our residents afternoon walk-in hours at our Goochland County Vaccination Clinic on Thursday between 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.   The Goochland County Vaccination Clinic is located at the Central High School Cultural and Educational Complex at 2748 Dogtown Road.  Walk-ins are available between 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. for first dose only.  We currently are offering the Moderna vaccine.  ** This is for those who are receiving their first dose. **

VDH’s Vaccinate Virginia Pre-Registration System

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) launched Vaccinate Virginia as central resource for individuals to pre-register on-line or over the phone for the COVID-19 vaccine using the resources listed below. Those individuals who have previously pre-registered or been already been vaccinated are encouraged to verify and update their information in Vaccinate Virginia; this can be done on-line or over the phone. This ‘one-stop-shop’ website allows individuals to easily pre-register online, verify and update pre-registration info, and access additional information on Virginia’s vaccination roll-out.

To access Vaccinate Virginia’s  centralized website, visit https://vaccinate.virginia.gov/, to talk to someone in-person or to receive assistance in signing up for a FREE COVID-19 vaccine please call (877) VAX-IN-VA or (877) 829-4682.  In addition to Vaccinate Virginia, Goochland residents can easily pre-register for the FREE COVID-19 vaccine via the Chickahominy Health District Call Center and Goochland County’s 65+ COVID Hotline listed below.

All individuals are encouraged to verify their information and update their records in Vaccinate Virginia by visiting https://vaccinate.virginia.gov/ or calling (877) VAX-IN-VA.

Options to Pre-Register for the COVID-19 Vaccine

Currently Goochland residents have four options to easily pre-register for the FREE COVID-19 vaccine.

  1. Vaccinate Virginia Website – Pre-Registration System | https://vaccinate.virginia.gov/:  Individuals can complete the Statewide Vaccine Pre-Registration system by visiting https://vaccinate.virginia.gov/.  Individuals should verify their information and update their record in the system.
  2. Vaccinate Virginia Call Center | (877) VAX-IN-VA / (877) 829-4682:  Individuals who would like to talk to someone in-person or needs assistance pre-registering for a FREE COVID-19 vaccine can contact the Vaccinate Virginia Call Center at (877) VAX-IN-VA or (877) 829-4682.  The call center is open from 8am – 8pm seven days a week.
  3. Chickahominy Health District Call Center | (804) 365-3240:  Individuals who have questions or needs assistance in signing up for a FREE COVID-19 vaccine appointment can contact the Chickahominy Health District’s COVID-19 call center to sign-up by phone at (804) 365-3240 Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.  Chickahominy Health District’s COVID-19 call center is staffed by Hanover County employees, Goochland County employees, Health District employees, and volunteers.
  4. Goochland County 65+ COVID Hotline | (804) 556-5828:  Goochland County has a dedicated hotline mailbox to help residents Age 65+ and those with technology access issues to complete the Vaccinate Virginia pre-registration tool, Chickahominy Health District Vaccine Clinic Availability Survey, and answer COVID-19 related questions.  Goochland’s hotline can be reached at (804) 556-5828, residents will need to leave a message and a volunteer will call you back.

After you register someone from the health department will contact you about vaccination opportunities and will give you an appointment confirmation, date, time, and location.


COVID-19 Vaccine Priority Group Status – Vaccinating Priority Groups Priority Group I (1a, 1b, & 1c) and  Priority Group II (General Public, Age 16+)

The Chickahominy Health District is currently vaccinating Priority Group I (1a, 1b, and 1c) and Priority Group II (General Public, Age 16+) in partnership with our local and regional partners.  At this time, the district only has in stock vaccines for those age 18 years and older.

Priority Group 1a: 

  • Healthcare Personnel
  • Residents of Long-Term Care Facilities

Priority Group 1b: 

  • Frontline Essential Workers
  • People Age 65+
  • People Ages 18* - 65 with certain medical conditions
  • People living in correctional facilities, homeless shelters, and migrant labor camps

Priority Group 1c:

Additional Essential Workers in:

  • Energy, water, wastewater, waste removal/recycling
  • Housing and construction
  • Food Service
  • Transportation/logistics
  • Higher Education
  • Finance, media, IT, communications
  • Legal services and public safety (engineers)
  • Barbers, stylists/hairdressers

Priority Group 2: 

  • Everyone, 16 and older, who lives or works in Virginia
