The Goochland County flag was lowered to half-staff today and will remain lowered through sunset on Tuesday, January 25th in honor and recognition of former Chesterfield County Administrator James J.L. "Jay" Stegmaier, who passed away on January 20th.

Goochland County joins localities across the Richmond region, including the counties of Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, & New Kent, and the city of Richmond, in lowering our flags in honor of Jay Stegmaier and his 37 years of service and dedicated leadership in Chesterfield and the greater Richmond region. Mr. Stegmaier played key roles in regional efforts throughout his tenure with Chesterfield.
