The Commonwealth Transportation Board will take your comments into consideration as it develops the Six-Year Improvement Program (FY 2018-2023 SYIP). The program allocates public funds to highway, road, bridge, rail, bicycle, pedestrian and public transportation projects. All federally eligible projects in the SYIP will be included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program to document how Virginia will obligate its federal funds.

Critically important projects in Goochland include:
- Improve interchange at Rt. 288 and Broad Street Road (Rt. 250)
- Install a traffic signal at the intersection of Patterson Avenue (Rt. 6) and West Creek Parkway
- Install a traffic signal at the interchange of I-64 and Ashland Road (Rt. 623)
While VDOT has wrapped up their scheduled public meetings, which included a formal comment period. Those unable to attend one of the meetings may view the displays at the link below and provide your comments by email or US mail. Comments are being accepted by May 16th.
Goochland County officials attended the May 1st VDOT public hearing to advocate for the County’s critically important road projects. Board of Supervisors - District 2 member Manuel Alvarez, Goochland County Sheriff James L. Agnew, and Goochland County Administrator John Budesky shared concerns about project timelines and traffic safety.
