[ARCHIVED] Robin Hillman Named Goochland County Emergency Management Coordinator

Goochland, VA – Goochland County is excited to announce Mrs. Robin Hillman as the newly selected Emergency Management Coordinator for the Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services.

 

Robin Hillman is a 40-year volunteer Lifetime Member of the Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services assigned to Crozier Company 2 and Fire-Rescue Administration. She started her volunteer service in 1982 at Centerville Company 3, serving as a rescue squad member, certifying as an Emergency Medical Technician, as well as serving in company leadership roles. During her years of service, she has received many awards, honors, and accolades.

 

In 2002, Hillman was appointed by the Fire Chief as the volunteer Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator and has been instrumental in the success of Goochland’s emergency management program. She is a lifetime resident who knows the community, risks, hazards, and challenges of providing emergency management in a rural area that is rapidly growing.   

 

Mrs. Hillman was most recently employed by cxLoyalty, a JP Morgan and Chase Company, for the past 38 years; with the last 25 years focused on resiliency. Her most recent role was Vice President, responsible for the company’s global continuity, crisis management and awareness program supporting their worldwide operations in North America, Philippines, and India.  

 

Mrs. Hillman is highly qualified with over 40 years of experience in emergency management in both public and private sector. Chief Ferguson stated, “She is the right person to lead Goochland’s Emergency Management Program.” In this role, she will be responsible for preparing for, responding to, preventing, and recovering from natural or man-made disasters, hostile military or paramilitary action, and public health emergencies to include pandemics which threaten Goochland residents.  

 

Mrs. Hillman is well respected by her peers and is actively engaged in the Goochland community. Her volunteer service includes the Goochland Rotary Club and the Goochland Christmas Mother Program, as well as others. Mrs. Hillman will begin her new role with the County on November 16, 2022.
