Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close a section of Dickinson Road (Route 396) between Sandy Hook Road (Route 522) and Fairground Road (Route 632) on Monday, April 3 through Tuesday, April 4 for a culvert pipe replacement project in Goochland.
The project will require the closure of Dickinson Road (Route 396) approximately 370 ft. south of Fairground Road (Route 632). Please note the that travelers will have access to Reynolds Community College – Goochland Campus. Travelers that would typically utilize the blocked roadway to reach their destination must instead utilize the following roadways and routes listed below and shown on the map.
During the closure, drivers should follow the posted detour route:
- Northbound Dickinson Road (Route 396): Take Fairground Rd. (Rt. 632) west to Sandy Hook Rd. (Rt. 522) south to Dickinson Rd.
- Southbound Dickinson Road (Route 396): Take Sandy Hook Rd. (Rt. 522) north to Fairground Rd. (Rt. 632) east to Dickinson Rd.
This project is related to the Fairground Road Intersection Roundabout project and in preparation for closures which will occur for the project later this spring.
