The Metro Richmond Area and Goochland County has been upgraded to a critical fire danger for Tuesday by the Storm Prediction Center. Earlier a Red Flag Fire Danger Warning was issued for Goochland County and portions of Virginia by the National Weather Service.
Warm, dry, and breezy conditions (combined with dry fine fuels) will lead to an elevated fire risk across the area Tuesday afternoon. There is an increased danger that a fire could easily spread out of control.
Please refrain from ANY burning Tuesday including using fire pits or similar. Remember NEVER discard of smoking materials in mulch or brush! Sink It or Soak It in water, sand, or a receptacle.
