A water main break occurred along River Road in eastern Goochland overnight, Saturday, July 29th, that is impacting Goochland County Public Utilities customers in the subdivisions of Randolph Square, Lower Tuckahoe, and Wickham Glen. Customers in these subdivisions are experiencing lower than normal water pressure or loss of water service because of the break.

A Public Utilities contractor is completing repairs to the River Road water main and hopes to restore service by dinner time today, July 30, 2023.
A Boil Water Notice has been issued by Virginia Department of Health, the Goochland County Health Department and Goochland Public Utilities for customers in the subdivisions of Randolph Square, Lower Tuckahoe, and Wickham Glen until further notice as a safety precaution due to a loss of water pressure. Residents in these subdivisions are advised to use boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes as a safety precaution. Failure to follow this advisory could result in stomach or intestinal illness.

The water main break along River Road is an unfortunate result of age and not related to the ongoing Eastern Goochland Force Main capital project occurring in the nearby area.
The 12200 block of River Road is closed just east of Randolph Square Parkway at the Goochland - Henrico County line for the contractor to make repairs. It is anticipated to be closed most of today, Sunday, July 30th, please use an alternative route.
