Goochland County is providing a Tuesday, August 1st update on restoration efforts for the water main break that occurred along River Road in eastern Goochland overnight, Saturday, July 29th. The water main break impacted Goochland County Public Utilities customers in the subdivisions of Randolph Square, Lower Tuckahoe, and Wickham Glen.
The Boil Water Notice advisory issued by Virginia Department of Health, the Goochland County Health Department and Goochland Public Utilities has BEEN LIFTED as of Tuesday afternoon, August 1st, 2023 for customers in the subdivisions of Randolph Square, Lower Tuckahoe, and Wickham Glen. Customers can resume normal use of water again. The Boil Water Notice, that has been lifted, was a safety precaution due to a loss of water pressure, and remained in place until water sampling results were received.
Goochland County Public Utilities has worked in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Health to lift the boil water advisory as quickly as possible after a contractor completed repairs to the River Road water main and service was restored on Sunday evening, July 30th. We appreciate the citizens patience with the process.
The water main break along River Road was an unfortunate result of age and not related to the ongoing Eastern Goochland Force Main capital project occurring in the nearby area.
